Summer Reading Challenge

Set your own reading goal! Read at least 20 minutes a day to reach a goal of 24 hours or read for an hour and a half every day to read over 100 hours. Think about what makes sense for you and set your target anywhere in between or beyond!

Time spent reading in any format and in any language you can understand will count towards your goal. Picture books, chapter books, comics, magazines, audiobooks, e-books, fiction or nonfiction, it’s all reading!

You may track your progress on Beanstack or download a paper Reading Log [PDF] to track offline.

At the end of the summer, starting Saturday, August 26 through Saturday, September 9, come tell us about your favorite books and pick up a tote bag to help you carry all your future volumes.

Summer Challenge Bingo

Earn entry to a special youth-only book sale hosted by the Friends of Cary Library on Saturday, September 9 by completing Summer Challenge Bingo activities. There are 25 different activities to keep you busy, and for each complete row, column, or diagonal, you will earn $1 in Book Sale Bucks up to a maximum total of $5.

Book Sale Bucks are the ticket to entry, so only children who have earned at least one Bingo will be able to go to the sale. Visit the library to collect your Bucks starting Saturday, August 26 through Saturday, September 9.
