Rotating Collection

NOTE: All galleries and display cases at Cary Library are closed from July 2024 for the following year during our construction project.

Cary Library offers three gallery spaces and several cases to community artists (suitable for displaying two-dimensional art): 

  • Piper Gallery (Main Floor)
  • Sophia Ho Case (Main Floor
  • Small Display Cases (near Sophia Ho Display Case)
  • Pierce Gallery (Lower Level)
    • Starting in November 2022, Artwork by K-12 students will primarily be featured
  • Large Meeting Room Gallery (Lower Level)
    • Reserved for special exhibits or pieces from permanent collection.

The Lexington Community Center, located at 39 Marrett Rd. in Lexington, offers one gallery space to community artists, suitable for displaying two-dimensional art, as well as multiple display cases.

Permanent Collection

In addition to our rotating art galley spaces, Cary Library is proud to house and display a permanent collection of art – portraits, landscapes, plaques and objects – associated with the Town of Lexington and the library itself.
