Dear Cary Library Community,

We are nearing the end of the major demolition stage of our renovation project, which means that we have passed the worst of the noise and disruption. Next week we will resume daytime hours, but remind users that contractors are working in the building Monday - Friday until late afternoon so you should expect some noise during your visit.

Library Hours beginning October 21, 2024: Beginning Monday, October 21, the library will move to the following schedule. We expect this schedule to continue through the winter months.

  • Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Friday & Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Reminders:

  • Our entire Lower Level remains closed: This includes the Children's Room, Teen Room, Large Meeting Room, and all lower level restrooms. These spaces will remain closed for the duration of the project.
  • Limited seating: With the Lower Level closed, we have significantly reduced seating space throughout the building. Quietest spaces may be found on the upper level.
  • Very limited snack area in the building. Our Main Level Commons area is the only space in the building where eating is permitted. Please help us keep the building clean and pest-free by abiding by this policy.
  • Programs are happening, virtually and around Lexington. This fall we will offer a mix of in-person programs at offsite locations and virtual programs. Check our calendar for dates, times, and locations.

A sincere thanks to all of you for your support over the past few months. Providing library services in a building under construction has presented many challenges, and we are grateful for your understanding. If you have questions at any point in this project, please reach out to me at kstembridge@lexingtonma.gov or 781-698-4401.

Best regards,

Koren Stembridge
Library Director
