||Front view of Buckman Tavern, 1875.
"This very interesting view of the front of Buckman Tavern was taken April 19, 1875. There were no changes for years and the house and grounds looked just like this until the property passed into the hands of the Town in 1913. Although it does not show very clearly there appears to be a large barn in the rear and to the left of the house. Notice especially that on the hills to the rear only one house had been built, that now occupied by Mr. Everett S. Emery on Stetson Street. The Town scales apparently are in the middle of the street - well in front of the spot where the Minute-Man monument now stands."
