This year's theme for Lexington Reads is "Home Town... Our Town." Throughout the month of March, Cary Library will be hosting a variety of programs and activities on the topic of community. In keeping with this theme, we have selected Home Town by Tracy Kidder as the Community Book for 2010. Tracy Kidder will be joining us to talk about Home Town ( and our town!) on Sunday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. Please note that this special event will be held at Cary Hall., 1605 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington ( next to the Police Station), This event is free, and open to all. NO tickets required. Tracy Kidder has won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Award, and many other literary prizes. In addition to Home Town, he is the author of Strength in What Remains, Mountains Beyond Mountains, Old Friends, House, Among School Children, and the Soul of a New Machine. He is one of America's best-selling and best loved non-fiction authors." |
